Serious Bigtime x ESPN

Edited by Jake Benjamin, 7 Seconds Left, was a broadcast spot designed to evolve ESPN’s “There’s No Place Like Sports” platform, aiming to connect with a younger, more casual audience, and inspire new engagement by showing that ESPN is home to every type of sports story imaginable, big or small. The challenge was to distill a vast array of footage into a fast-paced, engaging spot that highlighted the diversity of sports covered on ESPN.

One of the most significant challenges Jake faced was the complexity of licensing, as the footage came from various sources across the internet. Despite these hurdles, Jake crafted a seamless narrative that conveyed ESPN’s commitment to storytelling beyond just the action on the field. By focusing on the wide-ranging stories and emotions within sports, Jake’s work elevated the campaign’s impact and contributed to its success in drawing in a broader audience.
