Black Widow Opening Credits

Marvel

Black Widow (2021) peels back the layers of Natasha Romanoff's mysterious past. Perception brought on board  editor Jake Benjamin to help  craft an intriguing opening title sequence. This sequence aimed to illuminate the unexplored chapters of Black Widow's history.

The goal was to create a sequence that felt genuine and unfiltered, mirroring the style of a documentary. Jake assisted Perception in gathering and crafting various elements: sourcing old photographs, integrating authentic-looking documents, stock, and directed live-action footage. These components came together to chronicle Natasha's time in the Widow program. Every piece of media required careful aging to fit the appropriate time period. This involved adding subtle touches like matte photo grain to images and employing VHS-style effects for video footage, all designed to evoke the specific era being portrayed.
